“That was
really a big thing for me to see him do that [because] he’s a superstar
in his own right and he performed with no backing music, no anything,”
said Jay-Z. “He just grabbed the mic and sounded just like the record.”
Jay-Z also discussed the real reasons behind the drama between himself and R, Kelly on the doomed Best Of Both Worlds tour, an outing that occured two years after the album dropped. The rapper confirmed Kelly’s legal woes regarding alleged child pornography and ensuing charges were the cause of the delay.
Despite, or because of, the shenanigans on the recent tour, the duo's second collaborative effort, Unfinished Business, bowed at No. 1 last week.
Jay-Z also talked about rumors of another collaboration with another fellow superstar - Dr. Dre.
“I [saw]
Dre in L.A. one time and we just talked about how magical that would be.”
Jay’s film "Fade to Black" was released
in theaters November 5.
