After being engaged for over a year, Nas and Kelis finally made it official with a small ceremony.
According to Nas' spokesperson, the Queens emcee and the Harlem songtress were joined together as man and wife in a simple ceremony attended by family and friends, including Nas' father, legendary jazz musician Olu Dara who appears on Nas’ current single, “Bridging the Gap.”
According to allhiphop.com, God's Son proposed to the "Milkshake" singer on Christmas Eve 2002 at her mom’s home. The two met at P. Diddy’s after-party for the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, and Nas said it was love at first sight.
On his new double album, Street's Disciple, Nas even rapped about what he thought their wedding day would be like on the track "Getting Married."
“I’m an easygoing person and she’s that way too in a lot of ways," Nas said of their relationship. "She’s a Leo so she’s fiery, too, but everything is just easy.”
No further details about the wedding were available at press time.
