Former Fugee Lauryn Hill has reportedly enlisted hip-hop-Midas producer Kanye West for her long-awaited second studio album.
According to MTV.com, the two have collaborated on a couple of songs which may or may not appear on the follow-up to her 1998 Grammy-winning disc The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Ironically, when West was still a struggling artist, he sampled Hill, but was unable to get clearance to use her vocals on "All Falls Down" off his multi-award winning debut College Dropout. The song eventually helped propel the set to multi-platinum status and features the re-recorded song with Syleena Johnson on vocals.
Hill, beset with personal problems and forced into religious reclusivity, has only put in a handful of appearances over the past five years since her emotional and unrefined live album MTV Unplugged 2.0.
After a Fugee reunion at Dave Chapelle's 2004 block party, bandmate Wyclef Jean has promised fans the group will record a second album once Hill's yet-to-be-titled album is released.
