The release date for Mariah Carey's up-coming album, The Emancipation of Mimi, has been changed to April 12 from its original schedule of March 22. The set, written and produced, in part, by Carey, is the follow-up to 2002's Charmbracelet, and features production by Kanye West and the Neptunes, and guest appearances from Nelly, Snoop Dogg and Twista.
The set's first single, Jermaine Dupri-produced "It's Like That," ranked as last week's top debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 53, scoring the artists now known as Mimi her highest-debuting song on that chart in almost five years.
She is also featured on the Top 10 Jadakiss cut "U Make Me Wanna." A video for "It's Like That" will be shot next week by film director Brett Ratner ("Red Dragon," "Rush Hour").
