Amidst the controversy surrounding Irv Gotti and the Inc, one of their most public, and bitter, rivals, 50 Cent, spoke his mind on the goings on.
"What we have here is a bunch of idiots," 50 told sohh.com. "Irv Gotti, Ja's manager, and Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff - notorious crack dealer from Queens all in jail."
The mockery was expected in light of the fact that 50 himself suggested McGriff may have been behind the 2000 shooting that left the rapper with nine bullets in his body.
50 Cent and The Inc. artist, Ja Rule, have been embroiled in a harsh rivalry long before Gotti changed the name of Murder Inc. to The Inc. In 1999, 50 and Ja were involved in a scuffle and a year later 50 was allegedly stabbed by members of Murder Inc. inside a Manhattan recording studio.
Since then the words between Ja and 50 have been harsh to say the least.
However, in a radical departure from the usual fiery talk, 50 showed compassion for Gotti and his crew.
"It's a sad story actually," he continued. "It's a story about a guy that was blessed with the opportunity to make music and used music to make him appear to be the gangster he's not. [He was] associating himself with gangsters, got too involved with it. I guess he's a gangster now."
