Kanye West is slated for a milestone Grammy Awards performance which will see him share the stage with John Legend, Mavis Staples, and the Blind Boys Of Alabama. The 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards, scheduled for Feb. 13 at Los Angeles' Staples Center, will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
West, nominated for 10 GRAMMYs, will perform with newcomer Legend, whose critically acclaimed December release, Get Lifted, dominated the No. 1 slot on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for three weeks where it debuted.
In addition, soul legend Staples, who recently admitted to having a 60's love affair with Bob Dylan, will be honored this year with The Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award. The Blind Boys Of Alabama are nominated with Ben Harper for their collaborative effort: Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album (There Will Be A Light) and Best Gospel Performance for the album's title track. Newly announced presenters include five-time Grammy-winner Norah Jones, and Ludacris, who is nominated for Record Of The Year and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Yeah!" with Usher and Lil Jon).
Hosted by Queen Latifah, the show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at www.grammy.com.
