In support of music education, Kanye West is slated to perform for an intimate crowd as part of the American Express "Jam Sessions" at the Los Angeles House of Blues, Feb. 9 at 8:00 PM PST. AOL Music will broadcast the show live and on demand at http://www.aolmusic.com/.
Opening the show will be West protegee John Legend, who'll perform cuts from his critically acclaimed debut, Get Lifted.
The goal of the "Jam Sessions" is to support music education by generating money and raising awareness about the importance of music programs in public schools. Net proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
In addition to watching Kanye perform, music fans will also be able to check out his AOL Music Sessions.
"I'm happy to be part of American Express 'Jam Sessions' to benefit music education," said Kanye West, who is set to launch his own Kanye West Foundation to benefit music education programs in schools. "With so many forces in the world driving people apart, it's important to me to preserve something that brings people together: music. Broadcasting this concert on AOLMusic.com means that we'll connect with even more people to help spread the word."
"AOL Music is thrilled to bring fans this exclusive opportunity to see Kanye West and John Legend perform. Our audience has embraced them both from day one and for good reason. This is just the beginning of two incredible careers and we are happy to be part of it," stated Jack Isquith, Executive Director of Music Industry Relations for AOL Music and the AOL Radio Network.
Tickets for the show are sold out. For more information about the "Jam Sessions" and "My life. My card" campaign, visit www.mylifemycard.com.
