Wednesday, 20 April 2005

hip-hop newsMotown Remixed, a project that sees Motown classics remixed by contemporary producers, has scored a hit single with  "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye.

The track, remixed by Da Producers, hit the Billboard Magazine Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart in March, and also entered the  Mediabase Radio & Records Urban AC chart last week.

The revamped classic from the music icon is currently available at Apple's iTunes and limited 12-inch vinyl, and is planned for vinyl EP release May 10.

Motown Remixed is set to drop May 24th. Other tracks include Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine," Diana Ross & The Supremes' "My World Is Empty Without You," The Temptations' "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)" and the Jackson 5's "ABC."

Additional producers on the anticipated set include DJ Jazzy Jeff (The Temptations' "Papa Was A Rolling Stone"), DJ Spinna (Eddie Kendricks' "Keep On Truckin'") and King Britt (Edwin Starr's "War").
