Eminem recently gave Kwame Kilpatrick, incumbent mayor of his hometown of Detroit, his endorsement.
The mayor, who has been in the past nicknamed the "hip-hop mayor" is among the country's youngest mayors, but nevertheless embattled due to on-going scandals.
During the last leg of his Anger Management Tour on Friday, Slim Shady encouraged the crowd of 42,000-plus to "make some noise for the mayor, y'all," and "give a "shout out" to Kilpatrick, who was greeted by cheers as well as boos.
Eminem and Kilpatrick have worked together in the past as part of the city's Hip-hop Summit and as recently as the Fourth of July when Em performed at a fundraiser for Detroit's annual fireworks display at the mayor's request.
