Ciara recently garnered the most nominations for the 10th annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, leading the pack of contenders with five nominations.
The show will be taped at the Pasadena (California) Civic Auditorium September 7.

Ciara’s “1, 2 Step,” featuring Missy Elliott received nominations for best new artist, music video, and dance cut. Her debut set, Goodies, also received a nomination for best R&B/soul album (solo) and the former No. 1 title track (featuring Petey Pablo) earned a song of the year nomination.

Amerie, Fantasia and Destiny’s Child each took home four nominations.

The Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards will air in syndication from September 17 – 25 and will boast a rare television duet by Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.

Ciara is also slated to co-host, along with fellow R&B singers Toni Braxton, and Brian McKnight.
