Shortly after canceling the European leg of his popular Anger Management tour, Eminem has been admitted to the hospital for addiction to sleeping pills.
"Marshall Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem, is in the hospital under doctors' care. He's being treated for dependency on sleep medication,” said Interscope Records in a brief statement. The rapper had cited exhaustion and “other medical issues” as the reason for canceling the tour.
The European Anger Management leg was scheduled to open September 1 in Hamburg, and hit other cities including Dublin on September 17th which had sold out all 80,000 tickets in a matter of minutes. The entire European trek was nixed on Tuesday.
Tour co-headliner 50 Cent, however, will continue on along the Euro route for make-up shows beginning September 13 in Nottingham, England.
