Tuesday, 23 August 2005

R&B newsJohn Legend has teamed up with Lauryn Hill on new material for their respective upcoming albums, including a remix of Legend's "So High," from his debut Get Lifted.

This won't be the first time the pair has created magic, as they had previously collaborated on Hill's classic solo debut.

"I've just finished a duet remix of "So High" with one of my favorite artists of all time, Lauryn Hill," Legend said in a statement. "It is her first appearance on a record in quite a while... I'm really excited to have Ms. Hill on the track. She's truly a genius. As you may know, I played on "Everything is Everything" off The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill album and I have been wanting to work with her ever since. It's great to see that wish finally came true."

The remix has been dubbed the "Cloud 9 remix," although there is no word yet on when the it will be released.

In related news, Legend is prepping to hit Australia with the Black Eyed Peas, as part of his Get Lifted tour. He recently visited Japan and has posted pictures on his online journal, found at his official website, wwwjohnlegend.com. The piano-playing soul-stirrer recently got snatched by GAP for their new ad campaign along with fellow R&B artists Joss Stone.

Legend has also been nominated for 3 MTV VMAs - Best Male Video, Best New Artist in a Video and Best R&B Video.
