Friday, 28 October 2005
R&B newsMary J. Blige is gearing up to drop retrospective album Reminisce which compiles hits from past albums and offers new tracks.

Due December 6th, the album gleans hits from prior What’s the 411, My Life, Share My World, Mary, Love & Life and her most recent 2004 release No More Drama. New material includes a song utilizing The Game’s “Hate It Or Love It” track (“MJB Da MVP”), as well as a duet with Bono on U2’s “One,” and the album’s debut single, “Be Without You.”

Reminisce also serves as the first installment in a two-album campaign which culminates with the three-time Grammy Award winner dropping her seventh studio album The Breakthrough, scheduled for a Spring 2006 release.

The albums promise to cover the spiritual growth Blige has demonstrated over her fourteen years in the business.

“Yes, she’s gotten lost," Blige admits of herself, "she’s done this and that and she’s been trying to figure it out.”

In addition to her recording and performing, Blige has been tireless in her efforts to uplift the community.

In addition to filming anti-drug PSAs, she's received Rock the Vote’s highest honor, the “Patrick Lippert Award,” fund-raised for people with AIDS, and most recently joined the Crest Healthy Smiles campaign with Thee organization and its partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to provide kids with tools for preventive dental care, education and low or no cost dental services.
