hiphoprnbsoul rating: This duo is anything but dynamic in their second attempt at crunk music with this album Ev’rybody Know Me. And although crunk music has proven itself as a force to be reckoned with, this album does this style of music no original justice in regards to variety and concepts. It definitely doesn’t measure up to the previous club bangers like “Lean Low” and “Cadillac Pimpin.”
The trumpet filled “Chop Chop” should have been chopped up, as this track is way too long. However, “Spending Some Change” will at the least have the girls of “Magic City” ( a highly rapped about strip club in ATL), hopping on the poles. Even on the song “Its Good” while combining three techniques: the sultry-voiced T-Boz from the group TLC, the creative sample from the t.v. show “The Monsters,” and also plugging the newest genre of music in the south, snap music - they still struggled. “Its Good” also sounds familiar - can we say “Wait” before you by this album. Although the album features the work of fellow southerner, G-Unit’s Young Buck, and hit makers like Lil’ Jon and Jazze Pha, they still couldn’t come up with a five star album. With the exception of the first single released “Presidential,” it is quite evident that the name of the group speaks for this album… this twosome needs to get some lessons from the pioneers of southern music.
Save your money for some new spring gear and download “Spending Some Change” and of course “Presidential.” And only download “Chop-Chop” if you have hi-speed internet and extra time on your hands. - Kenyetta Suggars a.k.a. K-Shug
